The Story of Carrol Krause
Photos provided by Jim Krause
Carrol Krause died of a rare form of ovarian cancer Jan. 29, 2016. Carrol was a journalist and worked at the Herald-Times in Bloomington, Indiana, for 11 years, where she wrote a weekly column for the "Homes" section. When Carrol was diagnosed with a malignant mixed Mullerian tumor, she left her job at the Herald-Times to tell her story on her personal blog. She often wrote honestly about her life with cancer, and advocated for death with dignity laws through her personal writing. She had one brother, Jim Krause, whom she spent a lot of time with during the last year of her life. Jim is currently a senior lecturer at Indiana University Bloomington's Media School.
